Privacy notice

We collect only what we need to publish Karambit Daily, deliver The Sunday Record, and answer readers.

The Sunday Record newsletter

When you subscribe, we process your email address, subscription and confirmation status, subscription time, and the technical delivery data needed to send the newsletter and protect the service from abuse. Buttondown also records the IP address and referral information connected with a subscription. We use this data to send the newsletter you requested, manage subscriptions, keep evidence of consent, and handle delivery issues.

The legal basis is your consent. Buttondown sends a confirmation email before activating a subscription. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Click tracking is disabled.

Website visits and messages

Cloudflare processes limited technical information, such as IP addresses and request data, to deliver and secure this website. With analytics enabled, Cloudflare and Metricool measure website visits and viewed pages. Metricool receives an IP address when the browser connects in order to derive an approximate country, but states that its website tracker does not store the IP, set cookies, or assign a unique identifier. If you email us, we use your contact details and message to reply and to manage the correspondence.

Security and ordinary correspondence are handled where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating a safe publication and responding to readers. Optional analytics rely on consent. See the cookie policy for the browser cookies and choices available on this site.

Who is responsible

Karambit Daily is an independent music publication created by developer and music enthusiast Zacharias Eryd Berlin, who is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to hello@karambitdaily.com.

Service providers and international transfers

We use Cloudflare for website delivery, security, and email forwarding, Metricool for aggregated website and social analytics, and Buttondown for newsletter subscriptions and delivery. These providers may process data outside Sweden or the European Economic Area. Where required, the transfer must be covered by an approved legal safeguard. You can read Buttondown's privacy policy and Cloudflare's privacy policy, and Metricool's privacy policy.

How long we keep data

Newsletter data is kept while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we may retain the minimum suppression and consent record needed to honour your choice and demonstrate compliance. Correspondence and technical security records are kept only as long as needed for their purpose or to meet a legal obligation.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy of your personal data, or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at the address above. If you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

We will update this page before introducing materially different data uses, such as paid subscriptions, advertising, or additional tracking.
